Introduction to CA Course
Charter accountant is an international designation granted to accounting professionals in various country all around the world. It is one of the toughest and higher level accountancy post graduate course. Also it is a rewarding career in different field of finance and business including taxation , financial and general management , financial reporting and auditing etc. At present in Nepal charter accountants are largely engaged in public practice and private sector. They became extremely successful entrepreneur. However to become a successful charter accountant , one needs to be motivated.
Scope of Charter Accountant CA
The scope of charter accountant are expanding rapidly. As a successful charter accountant you can work in the following sector:
• You can choose set up your own business empire and develop your own client on merits.
• You can also apply for job at an existing firm of CA.
•As a qualified charter account you can join on public service , government sector or even in private sector.
• You can also hold high and respected position on insurance companies as well.
• According to the report of Economic Time , there is huge demand for the charter accountant in the manufacturing and financial service sector.
• You can also work as GST service provider, advisor to the government, chief account, chief manager, management audits, lecture/professor etc.

Eligibility criteria for Charter Accountant

Following are the eligible to register on Charter Account.
• You must complete 10+2 or certificate level or A level or any other equivalent examination from any educational institutions.
• Graduates and post graduates who have scored more than 50% in commerce and more than 60 % in faculty other than commerce are eligible to register directly on cap -II.
• Those students who are appeared in final exam of higher secondary +2 and waiting for their result can register their name provisionally.
Course detail of CA
The study course of CA is tough and challenging , it requires a lot of hard work, motivation and dedication of sucessed. It involves theoretical education and practical training and problem solving skills to students.
The course of CA is divided into :
1. Cap – I ( six months)
The cap-I level compromise 3 papers :
Paper 1 = Fundamentals of Accounting ( 100 marks)
Paper 2 = Mercantile Laws and Fundamentals of Economics(100 marks)
Paper 3= Fundamentals of Management and Commercial Mathematics and Statistics (100 marks)
2. Cap-II ( nine months )
The cap -II compromise 7 papers and it is divided into 2 groups as:
Group I
Paper 1 = Advance Accounting (100 marks )
Paper 2= Audit Assurance (100 marks)
Paper 3 = Corporate Laws ( 100 marks)
Group II
Paper 4 = Financial Management ( 100 marks)
Paper 5 = Cost and Management Accounting (100 marks)
Paper 6 = Business and Communication and Marketing ( 100 marks)
Paper 7= Income Tax and VAT ( 100 marks)
3. Cap-III ( 3 years including practical training)
The Cap-III compromise 8 papers and it is also divided into two groups as:
Group I
Paper 1= Advance Financial Reporting ( 100 marks )
Paper 2 = Advance Financial Management ( 100 marks)
Paper 3 = Advance Aduit and Assurance ( 100 marks)
Paper 4 = Corporate Laws ( 100 marks)
Group II
Paper 5 = Management information system ( 100 marks )
Paper 6 = Advance Taxation ( 100 marks)
Paper 7 = Advance Cost and Management ( 100 marks )
Paper 8 = Strategic Management and Decision Making Analysis ( 100 marks)

Average fee Structure for CA Course in Nepal
1. For Cap – I
The total fee you have to pay in Cap -I is 27500 . You can pay it fully at the time of registration or you can pay it on installment basis as 15000 at the time of registration and balance 12000 within 3 months from the date of registration.
2. For Cap – II
The total fee you have to pay in Cap – II is 32000. As in Cap – I you can pay it fully at the time of registration or you can pay it in installment basis as 17500 at the time of registration and balance within 6 months of registration.
3. For Cap-III
The total fee you have to pay in Cap – III is 40000. Similar as Cap-I and Cap-II you can pay it fully at the time of registration or in installment basis, 50% at the time of registration 50% within 1 year of registration.
(Note: the above fees doesn’t include institutions / tuition fee. The institute fee varies from institute to institute and some of them provide scholarship too. In average around 3 lakhs and 50 thousands to study CA including Institute fee and ICAN fee.)

Can we read CA with BBS joining in another college?
Yes you can, actually there are no colleges for CA they are like institutes, where you will be preparing for board exam of ICAN(Institute of chartered accountant in Nepal).
